The 2nd choice
Yesterday we went to UP to meet a friend. I wanted to eat at Chocolate kiss but since there was no available spot we decided to eat at ROC instead. Compared to Chocolate kiss, the ROC wasn't that busy place. It's already lunch time and still the place is quiet. We were able to find a seat immediately as soon as we get there.
We checked out the menu to see what they serve. I ordered their garlic chicken and Jonas ordered their chicken inasal skewers.
The garlic chicken was good. It was soft but well fried. The mixture of garlic and chicken was really nice. It's like chicken ala pobre. I just wish the chicken serving was a little bigger. The garlic fries was so-so. A little saggy, but ok. The chicken inasal skewers was nice also. The chicken was tender and the taste was good. A little of inasal and kebab combined. Then we ordered some brazo de mercedes for dessert.
All tho it was a fail attempt to eat at chocolate kiss, roc was not that bad. :)

The Cebu Experience
Last week we went to Cebu over the weekends to attend the 2nd comic convention. It was a 3 days 2 nights weekend getaway for me and my hubby (it was our first trip together outside Luzon). We stayed at Marriott hotel, just to experience the place. It was near Ayala mall. As in literally at the back of the mall so it was really convenient. As soon as we arrived and got into our room we rolled in the bed and feel the mattress. The room was YOU-GET-WHAT-YOU-PAY-FOR room. They have almost everything you need inside the room. Like electrical thermos (if you want coffee), mini refrigerator (off course that's normal), hair blower, lot's of towels, toiletries, BATH TUB, and my most favorite.... TELEVISION. The bed was really big and comfy. The pillows were soft enough that when you lie down you can slowly feel that your head is sinking and your body starts to relax. Layers of blanket to keep you warm in case you decide to put the room temperature into 10 degrees. There is a bath tub with a hot and cold water that is quite hard to manage, either it gets tooo hot or cold but we were able to manage how to set it eventually. They have a ready bath gel (oh how i love you) in case you want to soak and have bubbles effect like in the movies. Clearly the place was really nice.
We ate our late lunch at CNT Lechon. Tastes good even without a sauce. And it was also a best seller. I wonder how many pigs do they have. Because they serve lechon everyday and everyday all the get's consumed. Lechon is one of the famous food in visayas area. They want to promote that their lechon tastes good even without the sauce. Ask Rex Navarette about how special the pig is here in the Philippines. LOL
As much as we wanted to roam around Cebu to maximize our time we just stayed in our room because it was hot outside. I keep on watching TV, while Jonas takes a nap from time to time. I also realized that the rooms aren't sound proof. On our way back to our room we heard a girl moaning. Loud and clear. Sexy time haha!

Haunted Yakiniku
The food taste was, as always amazing. I don't know how they do it, but its really tasty. Put some of their yakiniku sauce and mix it with garlic..... MOUTHGASM. The bacon (that was our first time to try that) was really good. Looks different to the usual bacon that you buy at the super market (doesn't have that curly look when it is cooked) and the taste is 10x better. The egg soup looks simple. Some carrots, mushroom and i forgot the other one, mixed with egg and some sesame seeds. Really simple but it's really tasty. I remembered the first time we tried that. I had a fever that time. Drinking a hot tea or some hot soup would usually help makes the body temperature better.
Since I don't live near the area, whenever i have the chance to sleep over we see to it that we go there and eat. It opens around 5pm or 5:30pm i think, till midnight.

Lemon chicken
This is one of my favorite stop whenever I want to eat some pasta. It may seem to be a little expensive but I just love the taste. I usually order (uh-oh I forgot the name again....) Rigatoni All'Alfonso (there you go! Thanks google). I like the cream sauce, the sun dried tomato and the baby shrimp, and don't forget the panini bread. The pasta is a little bit half cooked to add texture to the food. Like eating a crispy pasta (not literally crispy ok?!). I really like the sun dried tomato because it tasted fresh. A mixture of sour and salty tasting stewed tomato.
Jonas tried their Pollo Arrosto Limone while I eat my usual pasta. The chicken was good, esp when you put the lemon sauce. It will give a pinch of lemon taste on the chicken. Im not really into lemon chicken but this one was really good. Not too sour, the taste was just right. The chicken serving was also big. I think it was half chicken. A little expensive (on my opinion) but worth the money.
Now how do you pronounce it?! SHIBO or SIBO?

Red Ribbon
Before, my mom and I were a fan of their palabok (when it was still good). I don't really eat palabok before, but if it's from Red Ribbon..... OKAY LET'S EAT.
I once tried their Salisbury steak meal with a friend. Actually it was my friend who told me about it. I thought it was steak at first. When I saw it, it reminded me of Burger steak from Jollibbee. Together with mashed potato and some carrots and corn on the side, that's the Salisbury steak they serve.
It was actually good. I don't usually eat mashed potato (most that I've tried doesn't really taste that good) but theirs was okay. It has sour cream flavor or I don't know, but it taste good. The Salisbury steak was also good. The gravy gave a perfect creamy taste.
It was a pretty heavy meal also, considering I eat a lot. (lol)
Try it!
(i don't have enough words to tell but really the food was good)

Chicken House at San Pablo Laguna
I remember my first time in San Pablo Laguna. It was around May (of this year) I think when I first visited the place. I was invited by a friend (now my boyfriend) to join their "Komikero meeting" (a group of people who likes to read comics and some are comic artist).
We had our lunch at Spaghetti House. Jonas said it was their favorite place there when it comes to chicken. It was a small air conditioned place that looks like mom's kitchen with their decorations and they have different kinds of table. I noticed that there were a lot of people eating there. Jonas ordered his usual chicken and rice meal. For first timer like me, I browsed the menu to see what they offer. The price was really affordable. I ordered garlic chicken. It was served in a sizzling plate so I had a little hard time eating it. The chicken was so tasty plus the sauce was also good. "Ang sarap naman nito" (this is delicious!) I said after I took my first bite. I wanted to eat it all once but it was still hot (because of the sizzling plate) so my tongue got a little burned. Even without the sauce the chicken tasted really good. And the texture of the chicken wasn't even dry but moist. I usually observe the texture of the chicken when I eat to see if it's fresh.
So whenever we visit San Pablo we make sure to stop by at this place to eat. The last time we visited the place we saw they were available for franchising. When I asked the person in charge if it is possible to franchise in Manila he said he wasn't sure because it was too far.
Spaghetti House is located in San Pablo Laguna, near sampaloc lake (10 minutes walk)

Talking about cleanliness
A couple of months ago (last July I think) my hubby and I ate at TGI Friday's in Robinsons Galleria. We sat down on one of their couch table. While waiting for our order we saw some small cockroaches crawling on the wooden wall. Jonas wanted to squish it but when he was about to, several roaches came out from the wooden wall. We called their attention and asked of we can move to a new table. We sat on the next couch. We were already eating when I saw another cockroach creeping around. For the second time we call their attention. This time we sat down on a table near the glass wall. Thinking that no more roaches will be crossing our path since were away from the wooden wall. But we were wrong. We saw some small roaches lurking around our table. Lost appetite already and we decided to call the waiter. They were apologizing and the manager was explaining to us that last night they sprayed some insecticide. To make up for what happened they offered free dessert. What the?!?! NO WAY! How can we possibly eat there if there were so many small cockroaches creeping?! How sure were they that the food they will serve is still clean?!
They serve good chicken!
I'm really a fan of fried chicken or even roast chicken. I like chicken. haha! I happen to discover this korean restaurant (that's what you get when your former boss was Korean. You'll be introduced to different kinds of korean food) and honestly I'm not really a fan of Korean food, before. My boss told us about BBQ Chicken, she told us that it was good and it was famous in Korea. We wanted to try it out as soon as possible, esp when we found out that it was a 10 minutes walk or less from our school.
So we tried it out. The serving was big and the chicken was awesome! I ordered the original chicken recipe. It was a bit spicy (just a little bit) and it really taste so good. The chicken was really tasty even without the gravy. Was so full after, haha! I even tried their Jampong noodles and it was also good. The serving is good for the price they offer.
They have three branches (as far as I can remember and as far as I know) one in ortigas, in makati and in alabang. The biggest branch is in Ortigas. The only branch where they have "dine-in" (according to my boss)
because in Makati and Alabang they only have deliveries.
Ortigas address:

Taste-less food
Today my hubby and I ate at Dulcenea for dinner. If I remember it correctly it was a nice resto. The food is good, a bit pricey but good. I don't know what happened to them now.
Was pretty hungry already, as always. So I ordered a chicken meal (like cordon blue, it was stuffed with ham and cheese) and it looked and smelled good.
Everything that we ordered were tasteless. From the soup, the meal, and even the leche flan. Got pretty upset for that. I was expecting their food would still be the same. I used to eat there before (when they still had their branch at Megamall) and the food there was really good. Sad dinner.

Shomal Kebabs and Curries
Yesterday my boyfriend and I were at Trinoma. We got pretty hungry so we decided to grab a bite. Whenever we go there we only eat at selected restaurants so I told him we can roam around this time, just to add choices from the list. Then we saw this resto that serve Kebabs, without any hesitation we went inside to try it out.
The place looks good. No smell of spices.. They have this table on the side where there are curtains. So it's like a private table but actually just to make the ambiance look like your in the middle east (the things i see in tv.) Im not really a fan of kebabs but I don't mind eating every once in a while. The place looks really neat and nice (except for the mother and sonsss sitting next to our table creating lots and lots of noise. Seriously, don't bring your kids to restaurants when you can't control them. Either they will break things or disturb other customers. And parents please know how to talk to your little ones in a nice way esp when your in public). Also the prices were ok. Just right for the amount of food they serve.
It is located at the 4th floor of Trinoma, near Red Box and Jack's Loft.
